The Northeast Florida Chapter of ASTD was chartered on January 24, 1974. Prior to that date our Chapter was a division of the Florida Chapter of .the American Society for Training Directors.

Also in 1974, the National organization changed the name to the American Society for Training and Development from the American Society for Training Directors to be inclusive of all professionals in the learning industry.
